Hello, my name is Lacy Brunnette.

I’m a writer, producer and media consultant based in Des Moines, Iowa. I specialize in creating engaging content for fashion, beauty, culture, and innovation industries, and can frequently be found planning parties, hobnobbing at boutique openings, and seeking out convivial atmospheres and ebullient creatives. My work has been published on over 75 websites and digital platforms.

After graduating from the University of Iowa in 2008 with an English degree proudly clutched in hand, I forayed into the business world, starting as a technical writing intern for Global Reach Internet Productions. This began my 5-year corporate life that was heavily focused on technology, web applications, and upcoming SaaS trends. While the daytime tech gigs were laying some heavy duty groundwork for understanding all things internet, I was also adventuring around the Des Moines metropolitan meeting creatives, hustlers, DJs/musicians, artists, designers, bar owners, and every character in between. There was a short stint with the Des Moines Derby Dames, where I rose to short-lived local fame as jammer, Cosmo Disco, and I met my now-husband, Jeff. It was also during this time that I began a journalistic fashion blog and co-founded the indie fashion show series, Accidental Industry Fashion Show.

In 2013, upon realizing that there were some adventures too large to ignore, I left my tech marketing job to go full-time freelance. Since launching Lacy Brunnette P.R., I have helped numerous start-ups and established organizations revitalize and position their public image for success through writing, photoshoot production, PR and influencer campaigns, and online audience optimization. Projects have included work with brands and publications, such as Iowa Architect Magazine, Milk Media, DSM Magazine, Lenny Letter, Hudson George, Proclaim, KADE, Renaissance Marriott, Taika STROM, and the Des Moines Social Club.
